Coming Soon To A Store Near You: Tagtile, A Square-Like Mobile Loyalty Service

tagtile-renderingTagtile is a new company (and recent TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Alley participant), which is using the Square model involving free hardware to address the issues surrounding customer loyalty, management and rewards for brick-and-mortar merchants. Like mobile payments service Square, which uses a free hardware dongle that attaches to a mobile phone, Tagtile also provides its merchants with a free hardware device - in this case, a white cube for customers to tap with their phone at checkout.

In-app payment support arrives on Android

Right on cue, Google has launched in-app payment support for Android applications. Developer testing began last week, and now many popular apps -- like the ones pictured above -- can begin charging users for add-on functionality, content, or whatever the heck else they feel is worthy of additional bits of your pocket change. If you were wondering, Google will take the same 30% cut that Apple takes from in-app purchases.

At last we can buy individual issues in Comics with minimal fuss!

Flick Golf! for Android released

Android Central

Full Fat Games has announced that Flick Golf! is now available in the Android Market.  The unique style of gameplay is sure to be a hit.  Like the name implies all you do is flick.  It sounds easy, but mastering the technique is fun and challenging.

Unlike some other golf games you don't see or use any clubs.  You flick your finger to do everything, inlcuding teeing off, applying top spin, backspin, etc.  Points are awarded based on how close to the pin you get.  Graphics are top notch and look great.  The game has a lot of polish to it, and I haven't experienced any issues while playing it.  If you like it give a shout in the forums and let everyone know what you think.

How the iPhone 4S Stacks Up to the Competition [IPhone]

The iPhone 4S is here with a dual-core A5 processor, more storage space and a better camera. It's a minor update, sure, but how does it compare to other top phones (not to mention its predecessor, the iPhone 4)? Quite well, actually. More »

iTunes Match hits US 'end of October' for $24.99

We already had the details on iTunes Match, but now we've got a ballpark release date. According to Apple, the iTunes service will make its debut by the end of the month in the great U S of A, and it can be yours for $24.99 a year. Here's hoping Apple's got a nice, clean (DRM-free 256kbps AAC file) version of Monster Mash floating in the cloud for your Halloween listening pleasure.

webOS 3.0 beta now available to developers

hp touchpad webos 3.0
With the webOS 3.0 SDK available for almost two months, HP has now given developers access to a beta download of webOS 3.0 -- which powers the upcoming TouchPad and will likely ride along on HP desktops and laptops in the form of an emulator.

Right now, the webOS 3.0 beta is only available to Early Access developers. The crew at PreCentral states that HP appears to have eased up on access restrictions, however, so hopefully more devs will get on board and those of you who are planning to buy a TouchPad in the next couple months will have plenty of slick webOS 3.0 apps to install on your new tablet.
